Description
The Helsinki metropolitan area metro line is being extended in two phases. The first phase was completed in November 2017 featuring eight new stations including Koivusaari, the world’s first metro station under sea. Länsimetro will operate on a rail line of 21 kilometers underground in two parallel tunnels. At KONE, we are proud to have delivered 141 elevators, escalators and automatic doors to smoothen the flow of people in the city. Our solutions include 76m tall escalators, which are the tallest in Finland.
